San Diego Boudoir Divas l A reminder of how precious photos are…

By October 14, 2009Personal

grammie-small This is my Grandmother, Eulalie Rendon or Grammie to those who really know her, when she was younger. I may be wrong but I believe this photo was taking during her courtship with my Grandfather and she sent it to him. They were from different towns in Texas and were getting to know each other through letters. How could he resist right? 😉 Maybe it wasn’t long after that he asked her to marry him? I’ll have to ask her.

At the present moment my Grammie is ill and my thoughts and prayers are constantly with her through her healing process. I came across this image today and realized that it was the perfect time to blog her pretty face. The more prayers the better so I would be indebted to you if kept her in your thoughts and prayers as well.

Here is my Grandfather, Everardo Rendon. This hispanic Clarke Gable look alike took me to school and picked me up everyday until I was 13. I also lived with him pretty much my whole life. In hispanic cultures the elderly almost always live with their children and I wouldn’t change a second of it. I will never forget how on stormy days he would stand in the rain getting sopping wet just to greet me the second I stepped out of the school doors so he could put an umbrella over my head. He was the absolute best and, to end on a fun note, I was the only one in the family to inherit his blue eyes! I feel like I have a special part of him that no one else has.

Today I am feeling very nostalgic and really understanding what a sweet memento photos are for loved ones. These really remind me how valuable my job truly is. xoxo- Marissa

I feel the same way, I remember as a little girl looking through boxes of my grandparents & parents pictures on main occasions. I think it connects you on a deeper level with those people, it shows that we all go through so many of the same experiences, no matter what era we are from. It’s silly but think of how connected we can feel to certain celebrates if following their lives in the news! It is all about realizing how similar we all are.

makes me think of my dad & how I miss him. I hope & pray your grammie is feeling better soon! xoxo

  • Whoa Grammie is smokin’ hot and Lalo is one slick dude! I wish I could’ve met him. This is cool of you to post babe, I love stuff like this. I feel like the older I get the more aware I become of how important family and loved ones are. Possessions, careers and all that other stuff will come and go but who’s at your bedside when you’re in the hospital?
