We always want to give a little something extra!

By January 20, 2009Boudoir Tips

These last few months we have been doing our best to pick 4 images and create a set of wallets for the client as a surprise gift from us. We have always written thank you cards, but now we wanted to take it a step further. We would love to hear how maybe all of you try to spoil your clients….. please share below in the comments if you feel up to it!!!

  • One way that I gave a little extra was at Christmas this year. I bought small (simple oval) tree ornaments for all of my clients and printed my favorite photo from their session to put in, with my logo on the back of course. It was an inexpensive way to say thanks, and also to remind them about how much they loved me and their photos – keeps them talking! The little details really count.

I have given little mini wallet sized accordion albums made of luxury paper in the past as a bonus gift. Lots of clients like them because they can tuck them in a purse and share with friends.

  • I am in the early stages with my business so I have a little more free time than most… but for some of my clients (the bigger spenders) I create a dvd to music with the images from thier shoot. It cost me next to nothing other than my time and they usually buy duplicate copys for g-ma.

I feel as if I am an infant in the world of professional photography, having only done a couple of weddings, I have been pursuing this dream for 1 1/2 years and have had wonderful feedback. I have offered fancy mini wallet albums for family portrait sittings, a heart key chain that holds a photo for a couples session, a small stuffed animal for a children’s shot, a 5×5 moms coffee table book with the purchase of a 12×12 brides coffee table book (comparable to a high school yearbook, and very popular with my brides!), and a $10 gift card to a local lingerie boutique in the thank you card to boudoir clients. The gift card has actually gotten me repeat clients because they go pick something out that they love and want pictures of themselves in! It has been great!
