Happy B-day to the Sh** Runner

So if you follow our blog you all know Miss Ash Sapp as the go-to-girl for the educational side of The Boudoir Divas.  Ever since a workshop attendee said she wanted to learn how to “rock that sh**” Deena of Boudoir Diva team has been calling herself the “sh** rocker.” So Ash soon decided that she wanted to be the “sh** RUNNER.”

We wanted to give Ash a b-day shout out on the blog, even though her b-day was yesterday! Oops, technical details 😉 If you have watched our WPPI video you know that we love the movie “Despicable Me,” so I made her a fitting birthday card. Happy b-day to an amazing, friend, photographer, teammate, and S Runner we could ask for.

Our recent WPPI adventure!

As I am sure you all have heard us say….WE LOVE WPPI!!! Not only is it amazing talking with so many other boudoir photographers, but we LOVE seeing how far boudoir has come. Three years ago people would come to our booth and be shocked that we were shooting boudoir and still in business. Now everyone that walks up says that they are photographing it and love it. Wowsers! Who would have thought.

We have made so many new friends at WPPI and get to see our old ones so it’s becoming like a total reunion. Not to mention we had some serious fun. I mean come on, American Superstars at the Stratosphere…. $20 bucks of fun you can’t argue with! Stack Restaurant at Mirage… to die for. The oysters at Sea Blue… insane! The robot at club Aria….. watch the video! Already looking forward to 2012!

I mean come on. It came in a faux leather folio and everything. Personally, I love the red cup in the photo. Just screams class.

UMMMM EDIT!!! I was just informed by Ashley that the very intense make-out session at the gas station in the video looked totally serious! Ack!
It was a joke! Gas station make-out sessions are not part of our normal repertoire. Lol.

Workshop Attendees in FRONT of the camera!

So it seems that many people get into the photography industry because they love being BEHIND the camera; capturing those great memories and emotions for other people to cherish forever.  But many photographers are never on the other side of the camera, and many actually despise being in front of the camera. 🙂

Well, we at The Boudoir Divas feel it is extremely important to take that leap at least once, ESPECIALLY if you are going to focus on Boudoir Photography.  You will only know how to relate to your super nervous client if you put yourself in their shoes.  This will show you a whole new perspective and outlook on the overall experience.  Plus it will help you with posing, angles and lighting to see it from the other side of the camera!

Many of our Workshop Attendees take advantage of getting their own boudoir photo shoot while in San Diego.  We even offer a 10% discount off the productions for workshop attendees!  We also love photographing workshop attendees because we feel like you all become our close friends after a couple days and it is so much fun!

That being said, I (Ashley) just had to share some photos of the beautiful Lesli, who attended our February workshop.  I had such a blast photographing her and absolutely loved her little southern accent. 🙂

Free boudoir webinar from you-know-who…. tee hee

Hi friends! K, Ash, Weston and I are home from our very loved WPPI! It took me a few extra days to re-coupe. I got a little sick and as I saw on the Twitter and the FB I wasn’t the only one who fell ill to the strange bug going around at WPPI. Anywho, we are home, and as one of workshop attendees said (which Deena now says constantly!) we are ready to “rock that shit.” It always feels good to get back into the swing of things.

One thing that we were offering at our booth was instructions on how to find a free boudoir webinar that we were releasing to anyone and everyone interested in boudoir or running a photo studio in general. So we know not all of you were able to attend WPPI so we wanted to make sure we made it available to ya’ll. Keep in mind that if you heard us speak in the past you may have heard bits and pieces of this message before. We are SO excited to officially announce this! Yep, you heard it right… we have a PORTFOLIO BUILDING SHOOT at our booth this year! We are letting some lucky photographers shoot our model at our booth at WPPI! Anyone who has purchased the DIVAS’ LIGHTING & SHOOTING DVD will have a chance to shoot the model… so, if you’ve pre-purchased the DVD, simply print out your receipt and stop by with your camera! You know we love styling our photo shoots, and this one was no different. Want to get a little preview for what you’ll see at the booth? Check out our inspiration board for a little glimpse…

Viva Las Vegas! That’s right people, we are gearing up, packing up, and heading out to Las Vegas for the annual WPPI Trade show held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas! We are excited to offer our newest product, the Divalicious Lighting & Shooting DVD for sale at our booth this year. This project has been a long time coming and was a LOT of work, but we are really excited about how it turned out, and we can’t wait to share it with all of you!  You can check out the Lighting DVD trailer here.

We will be offering the Boudoir Lighting DVD at a trade show special rate of $275 (including tax). The normal price for this DVD is $325 plus shipping. AND, if you purchase the Lighting DVD (before or during the trade show), you get a special treat at our booth!
