We’re going to Uganda!

By Personal3 Comments

We are SOOOOOOOO excited to say that… we’re going to Uganda next month!!!! If you’ve been a long-time blog follower, you’ll know that I (Kimberlee) have had the opportunity to travel with Compassion International to document some of their trips over the past year and a half. So thankful that I’ve been able to combine two of my greatest passions, and be a part of this amazing organization. Anyway, Marissa and I are now getting to travel to Uganda to document the trip (photo AND video this time!) We’re going to be focusing primarily on Compassion’s Child Survival Program, which is something that we’re super excited about! Can’t wait to share more about this experience! We’ll definitely be posting updates here on the blog… and if you’re interested in sponsoring a child through Compassion, click here for more info!

Here are just a few photos from last year’s trip to Burkina Faso, Africa:

And, if you’re interested in watching, here’s a (very short) video clip of my trip to Burkina Faso:

Burkina Faso from Kimberlee West on Vimeo.

And here’s a (very LONG) video that shows the whole scope of what a typical trip looks like when I travel with Compassion (this is from my trip to Peru!)…

Boudoir Beach Photo Shoot

By Boudoir Photo Shoots32 Comments

We are so excited about our boudoir editorial photo shoot! We had a REALLY fun photo shoot earlier this week, and it was just SO freakin’ amazing to PLAN a shoot with a specific vision… and then to have the opportunity to actually implement exactly what we had in mind. (Check out Marissa’s video in the blog post below, from earlier today, where she talks about the importance of doing these kinds of ‘just-for-fun’ editorial photo shoots). If you have any questions about this shoot (or any comments – we love hearing feedback – please leave us a note below!!!) xoxo, K & M

Boudoir International

By Boudoir InternationalOne Comment

I was just looking through some old files, and stumbled upon this folder of info that we created WAAAAY back in 2008! I had completely forgotten about this little promo that we had put together, so it was really cool to look back and remember the origins of Boudoir International! Yes, it’s true… this is a dream that has been in the works for a VERY long time. More than two years, to be exact. 🙂

We have obviously come a very long way since 2008… and our ideas have had enough time now to really blossom and flourish. It is always SO cool to see your ideas and dreams come to fruition! We are so excited about our Boudoir International site, and we hope that all of our members get TONS of new potential clients & leads because of this website. Did we mention that we have a little advertisement coming in the November issue of BRIDES magazine!?!?!?! So exciting! If you’re a member of Bou Intl, you’ll be getting a lot more exposure this fall through BRIDES! Questions about joining the best boudoir photography referral site in the world? Boudoir Consulting

By Workshops2 Comments

Ok… we are SOOOOOOO very excited about this announcement! It’s been in the works a LONG time, and photographers have been asking (pleading, begging, and emailing us every week…) that we start offering 1-on-1 mentoring sessions. So – we’ve finally got this program all figured out! We had our first one last week with Denise Birdsong of Sweet Cheeks Boudoir, and it was so awesome! We absolutely LOVE our boudoir workshops, and if you’re getting into boudoir photography or if you’d like to take your biz to the next level, we would highly recommend joining us at our next workshop here in San Diego! (We have one coming up in Oct that’s already sold out, but you can now register for our FEB WORKSHOP!) If you’re thinking about doing a Feb workshop, you’ll want to register ASAP – because we only have 20 spots, and a few of them have already been taken! Anyway… getting back to the BOUDOIR CONSULTS… We’ve decided to make these consultation days completely tailored to YOU… so YOU will be helping us decide on the topics we go over, and our timeline will be based on what YOU want to learn! So if you’ve already come to a boudoir workshop with us, or if you know that you’ll learn better in a 1-on-1 setting, then THIS is the best option for you! If you’re interested in getting more info, please email Ashley: [email protected]

(PS: the photo above is from the amazing DIOR ad campaign; we’re in love with that shot!)

Denise was kind enough to share (on video) a little bit about her Boudoir Consulting Day… Thanks so much, Denise, for your willingness to share with everyone about your experience. We had such a great time with you here, and we are so excited to see your business continue to gow and flourish. xoxo, Marissa & Kimee

I (Marissa) was able to photograph this cool lady, New Yorker, Laura B. Laura is also a boudoir photographer and we met in Paris (wow that sounds so hip doesn’t it?!) at our Paris Boudoir Workshop. She is also a very gifted photographer and owns Rue Boudoir in New York and being the smart gal she is she wanted to make sure she knew exactly what her clients were experiencing in their boudoir shoot, so she flew all the way to sunny San Diego to see us and have her very own images taken! We were thrilled! Thanks Laura for giving us the honor of getting to know such a great lady as yourself. We know you will continue to be nothing but successful as your boudoir business flourishes and buy do we feel special that we have been a part of it.

Oh and thanks for letting us show the world your beauty Laura! Those green eyes still kill me. Wow!
