The Boudoir Divas: Birthday Wishes for Kimberlee….

By Personal6 Comments

This pretty lady’s b-day was this weekend! Happy B-day and many returns Miss Kimberlee West! You deserve nothing but the best and I am sure this coming year will hold many yummy treats for you.
kimee_bday

I guess I should apologize that this b-day wish is a little late considering the actual date of her b-day was October 17th….BUT, I was celebrating with her this weekend and had no time to post a blog. So I can’t say it’s my fault. Right? What do you know, we celebrated at Disneyland….shocking! The whole fast pass thing on your b-day worked out really well and made a Saturday at Disneyland tolerable, if not one of the best trips in a long time. For those of you who don’t know, on your birthday if you have an annual pass you can get fastpasses for a group of 5 for 6 rides. Pretty generous huh?

Love you K-frog! xoxo.. Marissa and all the peeps in The Boudoir Divas Studio

These are a few photos that M took of the band (check out their website/myspace/facebook pages for more pics). I know that Weston is probably going to kill me for posting the following photo, but I can’t help it. M did the shoot for them at the SD Boudoir Diva studio, and these crazy guys surprised her by coming out embellished and accessorized with our Boudoir Divas props (they raided our closet of accessories). Oh my gosh, when I saw this photo I could NOT stop laughing. You guys look absolutely FABULOUS! 🙂

Spero Lumina has been playing at various shows throughout San Diego recently (Including some really cool venues like Canes, Belly Up, and Soma!) If you live in the Socal area, you should definitely come w/ us to their next show! (Check out their website for upcoming show dates!)

Our new San Diego boudoir website will officially be launched October 23rd!

It has been a year in the making, and we have enjoyed every second of designing this baby. Well no that’s a lie, not every second. Like when my fabulous PC would crash over and over, no I didn’t love those moments. But I DID love getting to the program Showit. I found that anything I dreamed of doing on my website… I could do! Thank you Showit. So, next Friday please tune into this blog to be a part of our official launch.

Oh and I am sure you wondering why we (meaning myself and the rest of the staff, sly little Kimberlee sits all tall working on her Mac) still have PCs as pro photographers. I know, I know, say your little jokes, I have heard all the snickers 🙂 Well, when we started the biz we needed 5 computer stations, so Apple just was not happening in the budget department. But I am getting ready to throw my PC laptop out the window. Apple rescue me!!!! – M

The Boudoir Divas heart San Diego!

By WorkshopsNo Comments

We might be just a LITTLE biased, but in our opinion, you really couldn’t pick a better location to visit for a boudoir workshop than SAN DIEGO! We are so excited about our November 09 workshop – and thought we should share a few of OUR favorite things to do in San Diego, so that all of our workshop attendees can start planning their trips! We highly recommend staying for a few extra days to enjoy beautiful SD. Here are a few of our favorite things…
MARISSA’s picks:
1) Hike Torrey Pines Beach Reserve and watch the pods of dolphins
2) Pretend I am a guest at Hotel Del Coronado…..(eat lunch and waaay overstay my welcome)
3) Walk on the beach in the morning and deeply inhale the cool, fresh, salty sea air…. ahhh… just thinking about my fav stress reliever makes me feel years younger

KIMBERLEE’s picks:
1) Kayaking in La Jolla
2) Exploring the gaslamp quarter… I love trying out new restaurants downtown. Also, it’s really fun to check out the Altitude Bar @ the Mariott downtown – it has an awesome view of downtown & the harbor! Really cool spot. 🙂
3) Seaworld! I feel like a kid whenever I go the Shamu show or feed the dolphins!

A lot of peeps have been calling & emailing w/ questions about the boudoir workshop… here is one question we’ve been getting a lot recently:
What’s the main difference between the San Diego workshop versus Las Vegas or Paris???
ANSWER: At the San Diego boudoir workshop, you’ll be getting a complete behind-the-scenes look into the Boudoir Divas studio… you’ll get to shoot on 3 of our favorite sets… and you’ll get a chance to meet all of the fab SD studio team! San Diego Boudoir Divas l A reminder of how precious photos are…

By Personal7 Comments

grammie-small This is my Grandmother, Eulalie Rendon or Grammie to those who really know her, when she was younger. I may be wrong but I believe this photo was taking during her courtship with my Grandfather and she sent it to him. They were from different towns in Texas and were getting to know each other through letters. How could he resist right? 😉 Maybe it wasn’t long after that he asked her to marry him? I’ll have to ask her.

At the present moment my Grammie is ill and my thoughts and prayers are constantly with her through her healing process. I came across this image today and realized that it was the perfect time to blog her pretty face. The more prayers the better so I would be indebted to you if kept her in your thoughts and prayers as well.

Here is my Grandfather, Everardo Rendon. This hispanic Clarke Gable look alike took me to school and picked me up everyday until I was 13. I also lived with him pretty much my whole life. In hispanic cultures the elderly almost always live with their children and I wouldn’t change a second of it. I will never forget how on stormy days he would stand in the rain getting sopping wet just to greet me the second I stepped out of the school doors so he could put an umbrella over my head. He was the absolute best and, to end on a fun note, I was the only one in the family to inherit his blue eyes! I feel like I have a special part of him that no one else has.

Today I am feeling very nostalgic and really understanding what a sweet memento photos are for loved ones. These really remind me how valuable my job truly is. xoxo- Marissa
