Cooking eggs on the sidewalk is possible…

By Personal3 Comments

…well that is what everyone here in Arizona always says. Already heard it twice. Being here for only 12 hours I can see why. AND it’s only May! Kimberlee and I are speaking at the AZPPA Convention today at 5 pm. Should be very fun for us since at this point we are pretty obsessed with boudoir. Believe it or not we are incredibly prepared this time, no rearranging the slides 10 minutes before we speak because we decided “this should probably be there.” Or realizing that our handouts weren’t delivered to the hotel by UPS as they promised. It feels good. We are getting this down. I think it is because I bought a briefcase. I mean, don’t get me wrong, it is a very cool briefcase (don’t picture a nerdy one because it really is not), but ever since that day I have just felt more “on it” than ever before. Thank you Betsey Johnson for finally creating a briefcase fit enough to purchase, thank you TJ Max for selling it for a price that would make even the most frugal hubby say, “you gotta get it,” thus making me feel like an organized superstar on this Monday. Gotta go pick K up at the airport, “Sky Harbor.” Doesn’t Phoenix have the coolest airport name? – Marissa

Boudoir Diva’s Tip #… (well I think I lost count actually)

By Boudoir TipsNo Comments

boudoir_tip_posting More than anything we want our clients to feel like the photos are saucy. The Diva’s definition of saucy is that they have movement and major hubby appeal. In order for us to accomplish that the subjects can’t look stiff and/or bored. The hands are a bit part of that. Here is an example above. Cute little touch to the photo huh? Crystal, one of the rockstar photographers here at The Boudoir Diva’s San Diego took that shot. I just love it! – Marissa

And they say only men age gracefully, ha!

Okay, I am not one of the “let’s prove men wrong” types by any means, but I really got a kick outta this forward that my hubby Weston sent me. Had to share with you. Here are just a few of the great images that were included in the forward.

I am not saying that these guys look “bad,” just love the justification that gravity effects both men and women equally!

Loving, loving, loving boudoir workshops

Okay, really, I cannot call last week work. Boudoir workshops are mine n’ K’s new favorite thing. We get to meet awesome photographers from all over the world, talk about Boudoir non-stop, show the studio’s operations and strategies, photograph some of our favorite clients, go out for margaritas and just plain ol’ have a good time. We are beyond blessed.

All you wonderful ladies who traveled from all over the place to spend time with us last week, THANK YOU! We had a great time. And Dawn and Jessica, you know me, I just have to ask, how was Disneyland??? img_6820

I wanted to extend a very, very big thank you to our wonderful clients who came and modeled for us. It is very important to us that our attendees leave with a KILLER portfolio for their website, blog and marketing materials. For that reason we make sure that every photographer get one on one time with the models. During all the chaos I only had time to snag one or two images of each model, so here are the beauties below. AND…. if anyone has photos of Krystal, the pretty little lady in the natural light with the delicate vintage lingerie on, can you email them to me. [email protected] Sorry Krystal! Didn’t get a chance to snag photos of you since you were downstairs. Thank you, in order of photos below, Summer, Candice, Colleen, Marquita, Tiffany, & Frances.

What to wear…

By Personal2 Comments

So yesterday, Marissa sent me an email letting me know what she’d be wearing for our speaking presentation in Arizona in about a week and a half.  (I know, I know, so dorky that we prep what we’ll be wearing 2 weeks before we leave – hey, we like to be prepared). Anyway… NO JOKE… the outfit she described was EXACTLY the outfit I had laid out for myself last week in preparation for speaking in AZ (just slightly different, in a different color).  Sometimes I feel like M has stolen my brain, with the stuff she’ll say or the things she’ll do.  A little uncanny at times, like yesterday when I found out that we have just planned for & purchased a near-identical outfit for AZ.  (AND it’s an outlandish outfit, too – haven’t seen anyone wear this particular style out there much – so it’s really strange that we BOTH bought this w/out talking about it).

OK so now you see the dilemma… which I am presenting to you here as a survey.
