By Boudoir Photo ShootsNo Comments

These ladies look absolutely FAB!!! I just love the shots Marissa came up with… you guys have GOT to go check out the rest of the shoot over on the San Diego studio blog!

Laura & Delana… you ladies completely ROCKED your shoot. Without a doubt: you BOTH SHOULD have been at the top of the ‘Top 50’ list! Next year, my prediction is that you’ll be #1 & #2. 🙂 Hope you both enjoyed your shoot!

We. Are. Dorks.

By Personal2 Comments

Just in the SLIGHT chance that you didn’t realize how ‘non-diva-ish’ we are.
Yes, we are completely dorky. Case in point: this video below. We were working on a cool project where we spent about an hour in this room, talking and talking and talking on video. It’s inevitable that our dorkiness would come out. 🙂

Marissa on the air

By Personal8 Comments

I’m up in L.A. this week, so I wasn’t able to go w/ Marissa & Crystal in to the Star 94.1 station… but I just listened online this morning! She did great; I’m so proud of her! 🙂 Click here to see the planned outfits for Laura & Delana to wear! They’ll have the Podcast available later, and we’ll definitely have photos to share – so be sure to check back!

***EDIT TO ADD: I just grabbed these pics off of the Star 94.1 website! Laura & Delana tried on the outfits, and I think Laura is going to get her photo shoot done later today… So exciting! Here’s Marissa, on-air, explaining what she brought.

I am changing my 4 year old baby’s name….

HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT! HERE IS WHAT I JUST POSTED ON MY WOMAN CAPTURED BLOG!!!

“Okay, I am sitting here so tense right now because I am about to spill the beans on a huge secret I have been holding back on for awhile! Ahhhh, here goes. “Woman Captured by Boucher “is changing it’s name to, “The Boudoir Divas.” There, I said it. Whew. I am terrible at keeping in surprises, so you can imagine how hard this was for me. I know, it is just a name change. But for me it is like having a baby and deciding 4 years later that you are going to change her name from Sara to Jessica. Yowsers.

[CLICK HERE to read the whole story on Marissa’s blog!] So begins the change-over proces. A gradual transition that we hope won’t confuse our faithful and wonderful clients too much. We would appreciate any feedback you may want to offer us as we go down this uncharted territory. Heart ya’ll- Marissa Boucher”

Just got this note on Facebook, from my friend Rondi:
“So this morning i was listening to star 94.1 in san diego and they were talking all about your boudoirdivas business. people were calling in who had done it and talking so highly about your business. They then were talking about the two ladies on 94.1, telling them to go and get their photos done….. just thought you would love to know that, great free advertising you had this morning on the radio! 🙂 hope all is well!”

SOOOO exciting! But wait – it gets even better!!!

Just got off the phone with Marissa, and guess what’s happening tomorrow morning?!? She is going to head into the Star 94.1 studio tomorrow to do a photo shoot for the 2 fabulous ladies of the Star 94.1 morning show, Laura and Delana! I can’t wait to see the shots of these beautiful gals… I just know it’s going to be a fun experience for everyone! Marissa, have tons of fun tomorrow; I can’t wait to hear all about it! And Laura & Delana… you are both beautiful gals, and you definitely should have made the top 50 list. Your photo shoot tomorrow will most certainly prove that fact! Enjoy the shoot; we’re all so excited to see your photos! xoxo, Kimberlee

Posebook Review

By PersonalOne Comment

Just got this email from Jill Wesson – thanks so much for sharing, Jill!!!

I just got my copy of The POSEBOOK yesterday, and I LOVE IT!!!!! And just in time for my first boudoir shoot this weekend – YAY! I have been photographing mostly high school seniors, which I really enjoy. But I have been thinking about doing boudoir for awhile, but not really sure how to go about it. Then I met you girls, and the lights came on!

Thank you so much for creating this wonderful resource. Your Bad Ass Training Guide is awesome, and now this just adds to it!

I bought the bundle when you spoke at the Dallas PPA meeting, and it was so worth it. Love the book and the disc with all that great stuff (the “perfect boudoir action” rocks). …

You girls are fantastic – can’t wait for your Dallas “mini” workshop this summer!

Thank you for inspiring me.

Peony In Love

By Personal7 Comments

One thing you may not know about Marissa and I: we love to read. LOVE it. From the time I was a little girl, I was constantly devouring books, and in Elementary school, I was the typical glasses-wearing, dorky type that always had her nose in a book. Though I was also an athlete (soccer!), I just never lost my love of reading. It is so easy for me to get lost in a story. Anyway… Marissa and I have shared this love for reading, and we are also now sharing our favorite books. I gave her my favorite book to read (which she loved), and then she just gave me this one. It was not what I was expecting, but it was still an amazing story. And yes, I cried on the last page (just finished it last night). I also loved seeing some of the sentences that Marissa had underlined… especially this one particular line:

“From childhood she’d sought inner calm, not outer beauty.”

I don’t know; it just stood out to me, so I thought I’d share it here. Question for all of you: do you have a favorite book that you can recommend to us? I need to choose a few books that I can bring while we’re traveling in Europe next month (after our Paris workshop). Any suggestions? Thanks! 🙂

PS – Peonies are also my absolute favorite flowers. Completely random fact. 🙂
