Congrats Crystal!!!

So I was waiting to blog about it until I saw Crystal talk about it on Facebook. Because as we all know, once it’s on Facebook it’s officially world-wide public knowledge. She said this the other night on the FB, “felt baby kick/move last night while my hand was right next to him/her on my tummy…cannot stop thinking about it & smiling. Overjoyed.” We are too Crystal. We know that this baby will be beyond blessed with love and the true gift of having parents who love Him, our Lord. We love you and are so proud of you.

FYI: As I am sure you all know Crystal is our fabulous studio manager and photographer. She is probably the best studio manager on the planet. What in the heck are we going to do with ourselves without her???

Ps. Congrats to Mr. Carr as well. We didn’t forget you Brian 😉

Walking in the desert…

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share a little adventure of what happened at the Phoenix tour stop. Just another one of those random situations we get ourselves into. 😉

We’re really enjoying being a part of Showit‘s FREEDOM TOUR 2010… there is some amazing talent on this tour… and we are also meeting some amazing photographers! We’re currently in Washington DC, at this awesome coffee shop where the showit tour is being held tonight, and we are pinching ourselves as we realize that this is our job. How freakin’ lucky are we? We’re excited to sleep on the tour bus again tonight, heading to New York for the next tour stop tomorrow night. There are still some tickets available so if you’re interested, check it out here! We’ll be shooting a few more videos of the randomness that happens on this tour, if you’re interested. You’ll be getting an insider’s view of where we’re sleeping on the bus… and also a new boudoir posing idea from Promise Tangeman… so stay tuned. 🙂

We also have to give a huge shout-out to the wonderful musical talent on this tour: Miss Molly Jenson! She’s currently playing some beautiful melodies w/ very cute lyrics… I’m enjoying listening to her play as I’m sitting here blogging! if you haven’t heard her stuff, you’ve got to go check it out – and then download her music!

Our Speaking Title for the Freedom Tour

So as you probably already know, M & I have been speaking and leading workshops since 2007. We are always just SO incredibly honored whenever we’re asked to speak about a topic that we’re this excited about. We just finished all of the slides for our speaking program with the Freedom Tour 2010, and when it came to creating a title for the program, we may have gone a little overboard. If you follow us on our blog, you know that we’re always a little quirky/silly/dorky… and we do our best to let that show through. That quirkiness definitely showed through in the title of our speaking program. 🙂
But first, a look back through the years… Our 2007-2008 speaking program (and our first ‘big’ platform speaking presentation at DWF 2009) was: “Bringing Boudoir Back!”… It was the first-ever boudoir platform presentation at a National Convention (well, at least in recent years, since the 80s)… 🙂

Our 2009-2010 speaking presentation (including the most amazing experience at Imaging USA) was titled: “Boudoir Is The New Black!”

And now… for the title of our presentation on Showit‘s Freedom Tour:

Wednesday Morning Meeting

Hey everyone!
We’re doing our best to document the daily happenings here at the San Diego boudoir studio, just to give you a little behind-the-scenes glimpse into our lives here. I know that a lot of the time our little videos are just dorky and silly, but we really want to show our dorky/silly sides, because this is really who we are! Case in point: this video below, which is completely un-edited, un-scripted, and just shows us chatting and deliberating over a very big decision that we have to make in the next week! So check out this video from yesterday’s morning meeting…

And PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help us decide! We’re completely torn on what to do. Paris is a for-sure thing for us… we LOVE that city, and we will definitely return to do a workshop there again in the future. But we’re wondering if we should take a year off to try out something a little different – like the Caribbean! What do you think? Please give us your thoughts in the comment section below! This is SO our mentality!!!

It’s kinda hard to read what Dove writes at the end but it says, “Let’s change their minds.” We love that because that is exactly what WE want to do, change your mind. Create a milestone in your life where you can say after “this” happened (maybe a boudoir shoot?) I made peace with my body and started loving myself for simply because God created me uniquely ME. Are we willing to acknowledge our true worth and love ourselves? I pray that God grants us all the wisdom to see this truth. Hugs- Marissa
