WPPI Road Trip San Jose

We are SO excited to be hosting the WPPI Road Trip in San Jose tomorrow!

Our program is called “Dare to Dream” – and here’s the description:
“The Boudoir Divas will be sharing how you can design your dream life and business! They call themselves the “Disneyland” of all boudoir studios, and have women coming form all over the world for their boudoir experiences. The Divas have taken their passion for creating an experience where a woman can feel pampered and beautiful, and created a thriving business with over 400 shoots per year. They will talk about designing your dream life-both personal and professional!”

M & I really enjoyed putting together this presentation (it’s something we’re really passionate about!) I’ve also been nicknamed the ‘Slide Queen’… if you’ve ever been to one of our workshops or platform presentations, you may remember that we like to have goofy/quirky/fun slides (no boring power point presentations here!) So, needless to say, I had a LOT of fun creating new slides for this presentation. Who else has 50 slides for a half-hour program? Heehee… For those of you who aren’t in San Jose, I wanted to give you a little preview of a few of our slides:

Free boudoir webinar from you-know-who…. tee hee

Hi friends! K, Ash, Weston and I are home from our very loved WPPI! It took me a few extra days to re-coupe. I got a little sick and as I saw on the Twitter and the FB I wasn’t the only one who fell ill to the strange bug going around at WPPI. Anywho, we are home, and as one of workshop attendees said (which Deena now says constantly!) we are ready to “rock that shit.” It always feels good to get back into the swing of things.

One thing that we were offering at our booth was instructions on how to find a free boudoir webinar that we were releasing to anyone and everyone interested in boudoir or running a photo studio in general. So we know not all of you were able to attend WPPI so we wanted to make sure we made it available to ya’ll. Keep in mind that if you heard us speak in the past you may have heard bits and pieces of this message before. We touch on the boudoir experience, Pin-Up Parties, how we do our boudoir viewings,  and boudoir marketing. So click here to watch…

WPPI Road Show | Write up by Romonia Isaac

So we know the WPPI Road Show has come and gone, but we had the pleasure to meet Ms. Romonia on one of our stops and she wrote a great write up on her personal experience at the road show; so we just had to share. 🙂

Here’s an excerpt on the part where she reviewed us:

The Boudoir Divas are downright awesome! Marissa Boucher & Kimberlee West are two very talented ladies who have literally brought boudoir back. Their style is classy, sexy and flattering and it is absolutely exquisite. They continue to bring more and more to the table. Check out their beach themed editorial shoot. (Click here)  Love it! Learning from them, hearing how they shoot their subjects, what lighting they use, their poses and so much more was a treat within itself. And then to get the opportunity to get onstage and be directed by them was an honor. These woman are amazing and their business will continue to succeed.

The experience was so worth it and it gave me a small taste as to what is in store for the future. To all of the individuals who spoke, thank you for your genuine words of wisdom, experience and truth–it was appreciated and absorbed.  When you are surrounded by so much positive energy, it is always a great feeling. Boudoir photography during the recession?

Last week a photographer asked me (via her wall-post-comment-thing on my Facebook page) if I would share the quote that we talk about during our speaking presentation, related to the recession. It’s a good one, from our dear friend Donald Trump… and we think it’s so incredibly inspiring! As we shared during our “Boudoir Is The New Black” presentation, the recession started to hit us here in SD last year. It was around the time when we were ABOUT to raise our prices (with a pretty large increase!), and we were definitely nervous (hey, we’re human!). We’re happy to say, though, that we were able to almost double our gross income for the studio last year – and the demand for the DIVA BRAND is only growing. We’re not saying this to brag, but only to say that you CAN make it through by being resilient through hard times. Don’t let the fear stop you, and don’t settle just because things may seem uncertain. Keep pushing through. So, here you go… the famous Donald quote…
