One of our Paris FAVIES…

By January 29, 2010Personal

Yes, we use the word “Favie.” And yes, we know it’s not a real word. Whatever. Ok, SO… if you watched our video from yesterday (see the next blog post)… you’d know that we’re ABOUT to decide whether or not we’re going to add on an extra workshop week in Paris! All of this Paris talk has got us thinking about how much we LOVE it over there, and we’re already making a plan of all the places we HAVE to see again. At the top of the list is this: The Chateau de Versailles!

It was one of our absolute FAVORITE places to visit, and while we were there, we definitely channeled our “inner Marie Antoinette!” And, as usual, we had to document our adventures with one of our dorky little videos! 🙂

So we’ve already started planning our next trip to Paris, and we’re thinking about all the things we’d like to do while we’re there. At the top of the list is Versailles again. Last year we spent the whole day in a few of the gardens; we never even got to venture inside the palace! And I also just recently discovered that there’s an entire area that we didn’t get to see last time – Marie Antoinette’s estate, including the Petite Trianon, and her living quarters (such great inspiration for boudoir!) Check out this website for an interactive map (it’s the best map I’ve found for Versailles!) If you’re planning on joining us for the workshop in Paris, we HIGHLY recommend that you stay a few extra days for sight-seeing… and if you’re anything like Marissa & I, who love this time period and all the French inspiration for boudoir, you have GOT to take a day trip out to Versailles. Oh, and also… If you haven’t followed our blog for very long, we should probably explain the 2 guys in the video… first, there’s Marissa’s husband, Weston, who is an amazing photographer – and he’s also in a sick band called Spero Lumina. So then his best friend Brian is the other guy… while in Paris, these 2 were quite helpful with some of the technical details we needed to work out for the workshop (thanks, guys!) They became known as the “Broadies” — and we all had tons of fun in Paris w/ a great group of friends, photographers, and models! What could be better than living in Paris for a few weeks?!
